TRACK PLANT FEATURES
Belt Feeder - Feeding the materials into the VSI is a 1200mm x 4700mm long belt feeder. Contained under the loading area are impact rollers for loading shock absorption while the heavy-duty feeder belt feeds the VSI via a hydraulic variable speed drive motor. Fitted into the conveyor is a metal detector to protect the VSI from metal.
Feed Hopper - The feed hopper is the manufactured from Hardox 400. To raise and lower the hopper, hydraulic cylinders are used to bring the traveling height down to a minimum and allow for maintenance to the belt feeder.
Track Frame - The track is manufactured from heavy-duty frame steel having 3.8 longitudinal centres along with 400 wide tracks as a standard with an overall track width of 2.8m.
Forward Product Conveyor - The forward product conveyor or main conveyor is a 1200mm wide, troughed belt conveyor with a fixed tail section and a discharge height of 3.2m high. The belt is driven via a hydraulic drive motor.
Product Transfer Chute - Fitted beneath the VSI is the product transfer chute. This chute transfers the material passing the VSI setting onto the forward product conveyor.
Powerpack - CATERPILLAR model C-15 engine with electronic governing and emission control powers the plant. Rated at 525 bHP (265 kW) @ 2000 rpm designed to drive the VSI.
VSI - The VSI, with its high capacity and ability to produce finely graded products is ideally suited to the quarrying, recycling and mineral processing industries. The VSI has been designed for a variety of applications such as, fine crushed rock for mill feeds, ashphalt aggregates, manufactured sand, fine crushed aggregates, agricultural grade limestone, dolomite and gypsum, concrete aggregates, cement clinker size reduction, processing of recycled waste such as road materials, bricks and concrete. The VSI exhibits great versatility and has high tolerance to materials once thought to be too difficult for VSI applications. The VSIæs ability to deal with hard, abrasive, fine, wet or sticky feed materials is unrivalled.
Rotor Technology - The new generation VSI rotor will give unprecedented performance for extended periods with reduced operating cost. The smooth finish and over lap design of the rotor and components will significantly reduce or eliminate the airborne fines streaming effect on the rotor and wear parts, resulting in greater intervals between wear component change-outs. The latest design of the VSI rotor allows the simplest top changing system available. The lift-in/lift-out tips are held securely in place by the recesses in the top and bottom flanges.
